Presentation and Investment Grades #2

Gamblers Set

07
This is the first of the Gamblers Sets. The larger one of these pieces was lucky enough to win the Best Bowie Award at the Blade show in Atlanta GA in 2007. The blade steels are a damascus pattern with X's over the top of wolf tooth pattern. The handles are Sambar Stag  with the guard and pins being stainless with matching engraving and 24kt gold inlays.  I used a different flower on the pins. The old flower took 45 indivdual cuts to make, this flower took 84 cuts to make so just think how many cuts the regular engraving took. Ain't no wonder I was tired when I got through with these. The larger blade was approx 9 inch blade length and the smaller on about 5 1/2 inches long. If you want a Gamblers set just let me know.

Boo Daddy

07
This is Boo Daddy #1. The pattern of this knife is a modified version of an antique Samuel Bell dirk. You cannot see it in the photo but it has a chisel ground clip about 3 1/2 inches long on the off side of the blade. It is an intergal of W2 steel that came from the Nickelson File Company. This piece has an antique elephant ivory handle and an engraved stainless pommel.  The back end of the handle only measures 1/2 inch wide by one inch tall. I spent 20 odd hours engraving in that little space. Being the way that I am on occasions I would just run out of the shop in the yard and run around waving my arms screaming just so I could move a bit. After 4 years of being here the neighbors have gotten used to this by now.

Sendero Bird and Trout

This one is a Sendero Bird and Trout. Wolf tooth damascus, Mother of Pearl, stainless guard that is engraved with line engraving and 14kt gold pins.

Sendero
upgrade

I like this knife. Dog star pattern damascus. Engraving is the chain of fools with a border and 24kt gold borders. Stag handle. Only thing more fun than hunting or fishing is looking at your stuff. Just picture sitting around the camp fire, there is a long pause when no one says anything, then suddenly you say, "pardon me, while I whup this out".

Sendero

This one is shown with damascus blade, stag with stainless mountings. The engraving is done in deep relief. An excellent knife to take on your next field adventure.

Sendero

Sendero
This one has stellar sea cow bone handle, damascus blade and chain of fools engraving on the guard.

SouthWest Bowie
2

About an 8 inch blade, ladder pattern damascus, stainless mountings and stag handle. Pretty simple.

Fiskmuk

This is the first one of these hunters based on the old Nessmuk pattern blade. I put my Sendero handle on it to improve the usage. This particular piece has the Dog Star pattern damascus blade, sheep horn handle. The engraving is a new pattern as well. I think I will tweak it a bit next time I use it.  I will be making myself one of these soon as I think they are extremely useful in the field. If you had one of these Fiskmuks and a Sendero along with an ax or Bowie/Camp type knife you could do anything in the world with them in the field.
